I like many people spent a few years of my life living in an
apartment complex. The building itself was in the shape of a U and allowed me
to gaze out of my window and see my neighbors. Among the many rows of windows,
there was one in particular that I usually paid the most attention to, and that
was my girlfriend’s. On one particularly boring night, I looked to her
apartment and saw the curtains drawn shut with a dark silhouette pacing back in
forth. I picked up my cell phone and gave her a call. During our casual
conversation, I asked if I could come over to see her. She replied with, “Sure,
I’ll be home in 20 minutes.”
